My Own Darling:-
I'm all O.K. but homesick have been walking around on the streets and trying to amuse myself but can't. Want to see you so bad. When it gets to be dark I feel like I must call you up and go over to see you. I intend to go north tomorrow but don't know when I'll be back. Have got my suit started and had it fitted today. Have been making the rounds of the machine houses and have been busy so far.
Our train was late, didn't get in until nearly noon Tuesday.
I just made the depot in time Monday night and got my ticket with about a minute to spare.
Seems to me I never saw as many homely women as there

- A possible recognizer-added explanatory note was separated from the editable draft. The complete model output is retained below. Compare with the image and restore the note if it is actually printed in the source.
- Handwriting or annotations: spelling, dates, names, and omissions require visual checking. Fluent-looking text can still be wrong.
- Compared with the page image: corrected the written date 10/9, restored 'homesick', and corrected 'amuse' and 'homely'. Original wording retained, including the missing punctuation after 'homesick'. Ampersands expanded for reading. Continues on page 62.
